When Cal Woodard left Atlanta and sold his ownership position in a midtown restaurant and bar, he probably would never have imagined owning a successful real estate company with three branch offices less than 10 years later. Cal originally started in real estate as an investor and has long been active in local real estate investment groups such as the Real Estate Investors of Nashville. Cal met his current business partner, Charles Caudell, in 2001 and together they formed a local mortgage company before forming the real estate company that has since become Real Living Sterling Properties. Cal and Charles understood that they needed the support, systems and recognition that a national franchise offers in order to take their business to the next level. They looked at a number of national franchise operations, but knew when they saw the tools and technology that Real Living provides to their agents that they had found an offering that would allow them to attract and retain the most productive agents in Middle Tennessee.

Cal attended both the University of Florida and the University of Alabama. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama in business administration with a major in finance. Cal is an accomplished chef who also holds an Associate’s degree in the culinary arts from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. In his spare time, Cal enjoys fishing, cooking and playing music.

A native of North Carolina, Charles Caudell completed his undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University. After a brief period residing in Costa Rica, he acquired three failing, debt-ridden operations in the dry cleaning industry. He developed a system of marketing and numerous sales techniques which brought about rapid growth and a return to profitability. He operated those businesses for eight years, divested them and subsequently spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily with Merck and Bristol Myers Squibb. During this period, he received his MBA from Ohio University.

After leaving the corporate world in 2001 to focus on real estate investments, Charles met Cal Woodard. They began working together and in 2002 formed the business entities that hold their Real Living Sterling Properties companies. Their association with Real Living came about after they conducted an exhaustive search to find the real estate brokerage franchise with the most comprehensive and effective tools for helping agents increase their business. Real Living is that company.

Charles enjoys flying, fishing and golfing. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two sons and live in Franklin, Tennessee.
